REGIONAL INITIATIVES

 BUILDING REGIONAL COVENANTS FOR EFFECTIVE POLICY RESPONSES

 While THP advocates a global approach to refugee and migration issues, there is great value in regional initiatives which promote partnerships and a shared analysis of best practice between neighboring countries (see Declaration of The Hague, Principle 3). THP therefore organises and supports regional meetings to address the most pressing issues and policy gaps in a comprehensive manner, increase coherence between existing responses and disseminate good practices through its global network. With the support of global experts, it seeks to foster common ownership of regional challenges on the part of governmental and non-governmental stakeholders. It does so today in South East Asia, the Middle East and West-North Africa and will tomorrow in other regions of the globe.
