About Us

The Hague Process on Refugees and Migration (THP) is an independent, multi-disciplinary, global network of over 2,000 individuals, public and civil society organizations and institutions that seek policy solutions to migration challenges.

The Hague Process was informally formed in the year 2000 as a response to the call for innovative solutions in the field of refugees and migration policy, with a specific focus on human rights and development. Since then, THP has established itself as a unique, independent, global network with the expertise and reach to affect positive change in the field of migration policy.

We base our approach on re-thinking the short-term needs and medium-to-long-term interests of governments, the business sector and civil society as well as the aspirations and needs of people on the move.

We aim to bring together the right people, in the right place, at the right time to generate innovative and visionary approaches in the field of migration policy.

THP is a not-for-profit foundation registered in The Netherlands and is dependent on the support of its donors, partners, volunteers and Board members.

One in every 33 persons in the world is an international migrant. There are 16 million refugees in the world today.
