Priorities
In its 2010-2015 strategy, THP has made the creation of a research evidence base one of its top priorities. As such, a new “State of Play” research project has been designed to provide a global review and analysis of current, reliable research relevant to migration policy development. By conducting such an overview and by making it readily accessible to stakeholders, THP aims to improve awareness and understanding, prevent duplication of effort, and identify gaps in existing research.
Furthermore, the analysis of the research will distil and prioritize recommendations to facilitate this process for the stakeholders, as well as provide content for the solutions-finding process that THP has made an integrated component of its strategy.
State of Play
Compilation and analysis of existing significant research globally to date on policies and strategies, with supporting data, regarding migration and its challenges to:
1) create a landscape map and research repository
2) distil and prioritize recommendations
3) identify research gaps and reduce research overlap
Due to the extensive scope, the intent is for a two-fold approach, of which the State of The Art is Part I. Part II, which will have a focus on the Business Sector and Cities, is currently underway in partnership with Western Union.
